The Buffalo Nickel, officially the "Indian Head Nickel," is a very sought-after piece of history. It was designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser in 1912 as part of the U.S. Mint's campaign to beautify American coinage.

This super recognizable U.S. five-cent coin features a portrait of a proud Native American Indian on one side and an image of a buffalo (bison) on the other.

The handmade sterling bezel is embellished with a beautiful, faceted Montana-mined sapphire. The blue color is unexpected and amazing, representng the prairie sky. This gemstone was specially selected for this coin necklace from the "American Mined Collection," and the entire authentic coin pendant is made in the USA!

We've added a pretty feather dangle to complete the look. The pendant and feather glide along a 2mm oxidized round box chain, finished with a very cool artisan clasp.  Dimension and details make the difference in this early American statement necklace!
