Continuity of Space Pendant

1 in stock

A friend brought me this coin from Italy last month. I adore the design and had to get to the bottom of it!

The obverse is Umberto Boccioni’s 1913 sculpture, “Unique Forms in the Continuity of Space,” encircled by the twelve stars of Europe. The reverse side of the coin has the denomination and a map of the Europe with the twelve vertical stars, symbolizing the gathering of the nations of the European Union.

Futurists wanted to break from the Classical and Renaissance styles still dominant in Italy at the start of the Twentieth Century. For some, “Unique Forms of Continuity in Space shows a figure striding into the future.”

Coins are so rich in history and design. This handmade sterling bezel surrounds the Spanish Flower shape of the coin with a hand-textured, old world finish and embellished with a rose-cut faceted garnet to add sparkle and pizzazz. The two-tone with the deep red is nothing short of magical!

Chain are sold separately and are so versatile. Switch out pendants and add dangles and charms to our signature necklaces. What a great investment for endless looks!

(Shown with both RKJ Classic Paperclip and Signature Rolo Necklaces.)
